Speaker: Tom Brown, with an update of his June 1, 2011 talk on Internet Identity

The commercialization of the web and the spread of mobile devices have increasingly changed how we identify ourselves and interact with each other online.  In this meeting, we’ll consider what might be at stake as this evolution progresses, and how we might have more control over our digital identity and personal data.

Bio: Tom Brown is an open source software developer who can be found on github.com as herestomwiththeweather. Tom has added OpenID, OAuth and OpenTransact to popular open source ruby projects and has attended most of the identity workshops since IIW7. Tom co-founded SuperBorrowNet, Inc. and maintains the os currency project in use by Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibilty and timebanks in the Bay Area, Chicago and Athens, Greece.
