For our February meetup, technology lawyer and writer Chris Brown will examine how the blockchain (Bitcoin’s core technology) is spreading into other areas—from programmable money and smart property to distributed corporations and voting systems—and explore the implications for cyberliberties.
Christopher Brown is a technology business lawyer and writer in Austin who speaks and writes frequently on digital money and emerging payments. The former General Counsel of NetSpend, Austin’s leading fintech company, Chris now has a solo practice representing tech start-ups and their investors. His science fiction has appeared most recently in MIT Technology Review and The Baffler.
