Our speaker this month is Benjamin Bradley. Benjamin has been tracking Large Language Models (LLMs) since GPT-3's release in 2020. As a technical leader, he combines 20+ years of software development experience with a systems-thinking approach and security-focused mindset. Benjamin mentors team members with the patience of a parent and cultivates cooperative collaboration. On the weekends, he dabbles in hobby electronic projects with Raspberry Pi, creating immersive experiences and burning art with the Austin Burning Man (Flipside) community.
TALK SUMMARY
Why are AI Agents so good at some things and so bad at others? This talk focuses on building mental models for the behavior and capabilities of Large Language Models (LLM). We’ll review how LLMs have evolved from simple chatbots to autonomous agents, how to work with this new technology effectively, its limitations, danger zones, and its implications for the future.
HOW TO ATTEND
Our meetup is at FUTO Open Repair Workshop, 2410 San Antonio St, Austin, TX 78705.
When you arrive, you go through the center door facing the street and up the stairs. We are in the big event hall on the 2nd floor.
There a few free parking spaces in front of the building, as well as metered street parking. There is also a UT Garage, San Antonio Garage, right next door, where parking is $3/hr.
